A brief history of Donny

In case anyone is for some reason interestd in how I got here. Basically, I started drumming a long time ago, I kinda liked it, and a side-hustle turned into something a bigger.

I started playing drums in 2004, and have immediately since been in bands. Obviously certain bands in your teenage years are not as organized as you’d want to be in hindsight, but there was always some drive to play together.

I’ve been hitting the stage actively since November 2009, and since that time I’ve continued to play in various bands, several projects, and various friends, never too serious, but great experiences). Sometime before COVID I wanted to do this a bit more serious next to my regular job. And that was awesome.

I’m current the permanent drummers for deathmetal(?) band Canyon Literature; Deathcore band DEEPROOT; and metalcore band A Part of the Problem.

People seemed to like my work, and I liked to do it as well. The more people started to ask me for help, the more I realized I could actually ignore my parents and focus on music as an actual career (well, let’s be realistic: a side-hustle career). And here we are: in 2025 I decided to see if I can take thing more ultimate-serious and now i’m just a self-employed drummer for hire and teacher.

Since people have also been asking me how I got to the point where I am now and how I learn different sets effectively, I started to offer drum lessons in Astrant, Ede.
